Common Table Non-Profit Restaurant Revised

After their unfortunate closure last August, Common Table, Bend’s non-profit restaurant, is resurfacing as a ‘host’ for four Sunday pay-as-you’re-able dinners.

Common Table is calling for community unity in a season of increased consumerism, loneliness and depression through their Four Sundays of the Advent sit-downs. The events will take place throughout the month of December, and are meant to connect Central Oregonians during the coldest, darkest part of the winter.

The dinners will take place the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of December from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 231 NW Idaho, the space occupied six days a week by Family Kitchen in downtown Bend.

After the closure of the restaurant associated with the non-profit, Common Table’s community outreach has continued. In November, in cooperation with a Bend High School Student, they hosted a successful pay-as-you’re-able event to benefit Syrian refuges and hope to continue helping out around Central Oregon with these December dinners. Keep up the good work, Common Table!
