Another Day That The Music Died

It was confirmed today that Jenni Rivera, a mexican-american singer and reality star, perished in a plane crash in Northern Mexico.
This is terrible news for her family and fans as they mourn the loss of an inspiring woman and celebrated musician.
After hearing of this story, I instantly thought of Don McLean's song, "American Pie" about the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and "The Big Bopper."
There have been far too many fatal plane crashes involving musicians over the years and the passing of Rivera just adds to the list of stars that have had their lives tragically cut short but left the world with a musical impact that will be remembered throughout the generations.
Here's a video of the singer performing one of her songs at the "En Vivo" block party in Los Angeles in 2010. Rest in Peace Jenni Rivera.
