Two albums featured in the Source's Best Albums of 2013 have very close ties to Bend and are back-to-back here in this post.

The first album in at number 30 is Vegas Wedding from former Bendite Dan Pantenburg of The Autonomics. One of his many side projects this past year was the quiet release of a solo album under the name Steam Engines and it is brilliant. Folksy and rich sounding, this DIY album shines as a wonderful singer/songwriter record from an alt-punk rocker. Listen to it here.

The second album backs up to Steam Engines at number 29 and is from long-time Bend favorite's Matt Harmon and Kali Giaritta whom most Bendites might remember as The Ascetic Junkies. Now, the duo record as There Is No Mountain and their sound is just as infectiously fun.

Their self-titled folk punk debut album saw the long awaited release of live-show favorites and end-of-the-world inspired songs "Good News" and "O! Painted Hills" while also turning in lighthearted moments with "The Nail Salon." Truly their music is precious, timeless and deserving of our countdown.

This time we're giving away an album from last year's best-of list and one that finally became quite popular in 2013. English folk band Passenger took a year to catch on in the states, but their music can now be heard on top 40 radio stations across the country. For those that didn't pay close attention to the pages of the Source's SOUND section last year, here's a review of that album which can now be yours for sharing.
