Monday: Massive Eastside Sewer Project begins

Two year project:

Eric Forste
r, Manager for the 27th Street Sewer Line project in east Bend is asking the public's patience for the two-year project that begins, Monday, August 8.  Nearly two miles of pipe will be installed along 27th between Reed Market Road and Medical Center Drive with complete road resurfacing to follow.  Forster says the city's sewage collection system is at capacity in some areas.

Beginning Monday evening from 7 pm to 6:30 am, the 27th street northbound lanes (occasionally southbound too) between Twin Knolls and Grand Way will be closed with detours marked for up to eight weeks.  Highway 20 will remain open east and westbound across 27th during this work.

Access to homes, medical facilities, and businesses will be maintained for residents, employees, customers and emergency services.

Later in 2016 there will be more road restrictions until the project is completed which will take up to two years.  Forster says, "We ask that travelers give themselves extra time, practice patience and use other routes when possible."
