Starting today, The Blender is going to do our damndest to bring you a guide for the weekend to come every Friday. We're not saying that our readership is out of touch and needs a blog post to direct them toward non-sucky weekend events, but rather lending a helping hand in whittling down that long mental list of things to do you've compiled while slaving away in your cubicle.

So, here we go!

FRIDAY 11/7

PUSH art show: Treefort, 114 NW Minnesota Ave.

The First Friday Art Walk has been increasingly packed with quality art for the past few months, and we're not just talking about bear-and-eagle Northwest nature scapes (although those are cool in their own right). There's been an emergence of more out-of-the-box art exhibits and one of the most interesting of tonight's walk is the PUSH show - a fundraiser for the Division Street Skatepark Project which features innovative designs from local and regional artists on the decks of skateboards.

SATURDAY 11/8

Moon Mountain Ramblers: Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave. 8pm, $7.

It's the Source Weekly's 2008 "Best Local Band" back in action at it's home venue, the Silver Moon. It's always a hootin', hollerin' time when these guys and gal fire it up on their home turf. Also, there's word that they have a CD coming out soon, so swing by and see if you can get a preview of some of those tracks.

Lava City Roller Dolls: Smokin' Ashes vs. Prima Donnas: Central Oregon Indoor Sports Center, 20795 High Desert Ln. 5pm.,

The hometown Smokin' Ashes go head to head with Olympia's Prima Donnas in a knock-down-drag-out roller derby match. But hey, it's kid friendly!

SUNDAY 11/9

Sagebrush Rock: Scoots Bar and Grill 175 N Larch St. Sisters

These guys are quintessential Central Oregon rockers with a long standing reputation for dead on covers and head bobbing originals. Bend is really quiet on this night, so head out to Sisters and get Sagebrush Rocked. Wow, that was a pretty stupid pun.
