Moon Mountain Music Festival...is FREE

I've been keeping an ear out as information about the secondinstallment of the Moon Mountain Rambler's very own music festival, the Moon Mountain Festival rolls out, and tonight finally got confirmation that the two-day event at Elk Lake over Labor Day Weekend is not only a go, but will be free this year.

Last year, the Moon Mountain Fest shocked the pants right off of me, turning out to be one of the most laid-back yet high-quality music events of 2008's summer. This year the event is returning, waving the ticket cost they had last year to see the music. Lodging, on the other hand will still require some cheddar and you best see if you can get in at the Elk Lake Resort (which serve as the festival grounds) soon, because it's likely to fill up. If you can't get in there, you can battle the Labor Day crowds at the many other nearby campgrounds.

MMR is slated to dish out its high-powered Americana-grass for two sets both Saturday (9/5) night and Sunday (9/6) afternoon. And to keep the party going - just like last year - there will be a dance-o-rama in the lodge going well into the night, hosted by DJ Byrne 1.

Even if you're not a hardcore Moonie, consider adding this to your Labor Day slate. And after all, a little pickin' next to a mountain lake would probably be good for you. I'm not a doctor, but, hey, trust me.
