Steve Miller Band is Coming to Bend...and hopefully some other acts

Just announced: Steve Miller Band to play the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon.

It’s almost spring here in the glorious highlands of Central Oregon, which means that if you’re a lover of live music, it’s time to start praying for some big news to come out of the folks at the Les Schwab Amphitheater.

We already knew that Merle Haggard would be diverting his tour away from the steady string of casinos it’s scheduled for to arrive on the LSA stage come June 20, but now it’s been confirmed that another classic name is on the summer concert lineup. And that’s the fact that Steve Miller Band will play on July 16th.

That’s right, Steve Miller is indeed still alive (he’s actually only 66) and in only a few short months will be playing “Fly Like and Eagle” and “The Joker” live in concert for you – so forget about hanging out in the Trans-Am with the eight-track player. It’s all live, baby!

Somewhat peculiarly, there’s a date on the Old Mill website for May 28 that mentions gates at 5:30 p.m. Could this be a yet-to-be-announced Memorial Day show? In year’s past, we’ve gotten some runoff from the Sasquatch! Music Festival and its typically awesome lineup that’s given us shows from Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse and Michael Franti & Spearhead in the past. With country and baby boomer rock the only shows on the docket thus far, it seems we might be primed for a show or two for, you know, the younger folks.

Nothing to do now but wait…BUT in the meantime, here’s some remarkably bizarre video footage of Steve Miller!
