Don't Miss The Ascetic Junkies At Silver Moon

Portland's, The Ascetic Junkies return to Bend with some new music to share and promising some cool covers. Bend's Chris Beland opens.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the talented (and now married) Matt & Kali in Bend Oregon… but that’s all going to change tonight at Silver Moon Tap Room! If you’ve missed past coverage of The Ascetic Junkies, well… you must have been hidden under a rock. From their 2010 album This Cage Has No Bottom, to the new music they are creating (and are sure to share with us tonight), most people just can’t get enough of their unique folk/rock/pop/dance goodness. The best part about this upcoming set is that they are returning to the familiar confines of Silver Moon, always a fantastic place for a sweaty dance party. Kali, guarantees a good time and that they will “pull some cover songs out of left field” (which is always a treat from them). Though sure to be one of the best live shows in Bend over the course of the last few months, it will be bittersweet as the group’s ultra talented and super animated banjo player Graham Houser, is in the midst of playing his final shows with The Junkies, as he and his wife will be moving to Argentina in the near future. If you’ve seen past shows, you know just how much this guy adds to an AJ’s performance and how much this band relies on his core contributions to their songwriting. So, don’t miss this chance to not only see The Ascetic Junkies for either the first time or perhaps the 10th time, but also, to send Graham off with a bang!
Opening the show will be Bend's favorite son, Chris Beland. He's been writing a ton of new stuff lately even noting that...
"a back injury earlier this year that led to bed rest, helped me learn 3 new tunings and resulted in 13 new songs. I feel I am finally where I want to be as a songwriter."
So be sure to get their early to catch Chris's set!
Show: 9pm
$10 at the door.
