PDX Bicycle Show saturday 23-sunday 24

Two-wheeling madness takes over Portland at the Pedal Nation 2013 PDX Bike Show. Portlanders are in love with bikes, so the convention should be right at home in the Rose City. There will be demos, an indoor racing track, Hop Works bike bar, handmade Oregon bikes, a bike fashion show and a bike swap. Deals on bike gear should draw a good crew of Portland's avid cycling community. 10 a.m. Portland Expo Center.

Paleo sunday 17-saturday 23

David Strackany, the man behind Paleo, wrote 365 songs in 365 days while traveling over 50,000 miles and performing over 200 shows in the year 2007. That's motivation. The project was so innovative that it drew a good helping of media attention—even a congratulations of sorts from former Vice President Dick Cheney. In his seven days of residency in Portland, he won't even scratch the surface of his catalog. 7 p.m. Al's Den.

Bob Saget thursday 21-saturday 23

Apparently, there is life for Bob Saget after Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos. Namely, writing raunchy and blatantly offensive standup comedy. Saget developed his obscene style by trying to offend the adoring fans who approached him on the street, expecting a wholesome family entertainer. This isn't the PG-rated Danny Tanner you know and love; Saget is a whole new animal. Don't ask him if you can keep the stray dog you found, it won't end in a heartwarming lesson—more likely some expletives and a poop joke. Various times. Helium Comedy Club.

Treefort Music Fest thursday 21-sunday 24

Bet you never pegged Boise as a town with a rockin' developing music festival. I certainly didn't. But Treefort Music Fest has been compared to the early years of SXSW, which means it's on a path for major success. Instead of spending $700 on a ticket to Coachella, or $500 for a three-day camping blowout at Sasquatch, see tons of great bands at Treefort. Headliners include Animal Collective, Walkmen, Youth Lagoon. Downtown.
