Zach Ryan and The Renegades

Zach Ryan and The Renegades play the kind of living room rock and roll reminiscent of the purest of pop forefathers. Clean and bouncy verses and hooks driven by Tom Petty-esque guitars and narrative lyrics that rattle around in your brain for stretches long after the songs have ended make the perfect soundtrack for driving too fast, top down, on a cracked desert highway. Local alt-country rockers Second Son open. (BB)

Alex Wiley, KR, Chandler P

An odd, creeping menace laces Alex Wiley's flow. But the Chicago MC clearly doesn't take most things seriously, comparing a woman's love for him to her enjoyment of Chipotle. It's all done aggressively, though, making Wiley's work a confluence of nice-guy mentality and tough-guy bravado. He's headed through town with KR, a Los Angeles rapper, beholden the same two tendencies Wiley flirts with. He's a bit less frantic on the mic, likely due to all that SoCal living. Bendite Chandler P, who issued his "Language Arts" recording over the winter, opens the show. (DJC)

The Autonomics & A Happy Death

The influences of shaggy haired trio and former Bendites, The Autonomics are no secret. Its reverby rock-forward sound has a hint of Jack White, a dash of The Stroke's chugging power chords and reference to the twangy modern-blues vocals of The Black Keys. A Happy Death (who go by the same name as French philosopher Albert Camus' first novel) take a bouncy '70s-surf approach to psychedelic apocalypse rock. Yeah, loud-ass apocalypse rock, in a junkyard...it's going down. (BB)
