The Traveling Camera: Patagonia

We drove into  the little service town of El Chalten late one afternoon in March. The day was overcast and you could not see much besides some brown hills and a few hotels, restaurants and wood-paneled houses. I asked the girl in the hotel lobby where the famous mountain Fitz Roy is. She just shrugged and pointed behind her into the grey sky.

Next morning I got up before sunrise and walked out into the dirt road outside.

High up in the western sky I could see the mountain towering over the town.

I shoot the images with my 80-300 mm zoom. The camera mounted on a tripod. The light did not need any further enhancment later. Thanks to the low clouds the red of the first light was nice and orange red. The mountains of Patagonia are incredibly spectacular and a nature Photographer's dream.
