Redmond City Manager Resigns

David Brandt announced today he is resigning from his post as city manager of Redmond.

David Brandt announced today he is resigning from his post as city manager of Redmond after serving in the position for three years.

Brandt has accepted a job as the city manager of his hometown of Cupertino, Calif, according to a city of Redmond new release.

Apple, Inc., is headquartered in Cupertino, a town of about 60,000.

Brandt was hired by the city of Redmond in July 2009. The former city manager of Redmond had been Mike Patterson, who resigned in December of 2008 after being arrested for assaulting his wife. He later pled guilty to an assault charge.

In January, Mike Patterson became the city manager of Florence, Colo., a town of about 3,600, according to that city’s website.

Brandt's last day will be August 30.
