It’s a classic Labor Day match up: wine versus beer, grapes versus hops, oenophile versus beer connoisseur. So pick your poison and head outside to celebrate summer’s end.
The Little Woody celebrates craft brewing this weekend with specially produced beers aged in wine, whiskey and oak barrels from 10 Barrel, Bend Brewing, Boneyard, Brew Werks, GoodLife, Deschutes, McMenamins, Silver Moon, Cascade Lakes and more! The Anvil Blasters, Grit and Grizzle and Five Pint Mary will perform as well as local comedians Chelsea Woodmansee and Ali Goodnough. Maragas Winery hosts its third annual Grape Stomp Saturday. Bring a glass and sample Maragas wines including Beat Red made from the last years stomp. Stomp contests and a barrel raffle starts at 12:30 p.m. and bluegrass band Back from the Dead band will be playing all afternoon. The event is family friendly so bring a picnic and some low rise chairs and settle in on the lawn for an afternoon of wine tasting, grape stomping and toe tapping.
