I'm baaaaack!
Last week I spent five days in Austin, Tex., my first trip ever to the Lone Star State, enjoying the multitudes of live music that made up South By South West Music Festival. You can check out my live tweets from the week @sourceweekly #briatsxsw
I saw more than thirty bands in total, stumbled in and out of just about every bar/venue in Austin, discovered 32 oz. PBRs and Lone Star beer, and ate more tacos in five days than I have in the last five years. Mmmm, tacos.
The festival was completely overwhelming and despite running around and waiting in a billion lines, I didn't get to see Prince, Justin Timberlake or Smashing Pumpkins, who finished out the weekend all playing on Saturday night. Boo. I did, however, get to see what feels like every other band on the planet. Oh! And I saw Macklemore on the street and creepily followed him for a few blocks.
These photos are just a preview of the madness that flooded the city with thousands of musically inclined tourists for the festival which is the largest in the world of it's kind. See more coverage in the sound section of the Source next week!
