“Wedding in the Woods” concert for Friday and Saturday
BEND- The Deschutes National Forest has cancelled the event called “Wedding in the Woods” that organizers planned near Cultus Lake Resort due to extreme fire danger in the area and ongoing Public Use Restrictions.
Forest officials were just made aware of the unpermitted event today and believe that allowing the event to occur in that location would pose a public safety issue for both people attending the event and other visitors to the area.
Wedding in the Woods is an outdoor concert event that event organizers planned to hold a short distance from Cultus Lake Resort. This concert was planned near the general area as the Muskrat Fire, which just two weeks ago caused evacuations and threatened Cultus Lake Resort and Cultus Lake Campground.
In addition, currently there are Public Use Restrictions on the Deschutes National Forest that do not allow for the use of generators and campfires outside of designated campgrounds.
Forest employees will try to help visitors who traveled to attend the event to find other activities and camping on the Deschutes National Forest or around the Central Oregon area.
