Dads That Step Up

I get that Mother's Day is just around the corner, so this may seem a bit off topic, but not completely. The day has made me think of all the dads out there who have stepped up and been either what mothers couldn't be or what biological fathers didn't want to be.

I grew up with two parents for most of my life. My dad married my mom when my sister and I were around three and four. Together they brought us my brother and completed our family. My current dad is the guy that raised me. Blood or not, he's my one and only. I guess I don't need a day to remind me how lucky I am to have my mom and how grateful I am that she met my dad, but it is a good reminder to take the time and acknowledge it.

DNA means nothing more than a pattern in the body. It's the pattern in everyday life and in the heart that makes a family what it is.

Leave a comment about someone that makes your world better. Sometimes it's easy to assume loved ones know, but take the time. I think they'll like it.
