Last Minute Plans? Head to the 17th Annual Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival This Weekend

If you’re one of the lucky ones who get both the 3rd and 4th off next week, that means you’ve got a four-day weekend to look forward to, but what are your plans? With Pink Martini and Ween filling up the Les Schwab Amphitheater this weekend (Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1, respectively), there’s no shortage of nationally touring music to sooth your soul. If you haven’t made plans yet for the long weekend and want to check out some free live music, we have the perfect suggestion for you — the 17th Annual Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival in Fossil, OR.

The annual festival features three family-friendly, fun-filled days of music on the historic Courthouse lawn in Fossil. The event includes great live music, workshops, a song contest, jamming, local food vendors and small town hospitality. The lineup features:

  • True North
  • Grass Station
  • Misty River
  • Down Range
  • Buffalo Kin
  • Honey Don’t
  • Grand Young Opry
  • Bluegrass Regulators
  • Pitchfork Revolution
  • Wheeler County Ramblers

Can you believe all of this is free?! You’ll also find dry camping, RV parking at the Fairgrounds and the High School, which are both about a 5-minute walk from the Courthouse and nearby parks. Located about three hours from Bend, bring your instruments, your dancing clothes and stay for a weekend of bluegrass.
