With all of the smoke throughout Central Oregon, many events have been canceled, including the Sisters Folk Festival. Tonight's Michael Franti and Spearhead concert will continue as planned, barring any drastic changes in air quality.
For the past several summers, Michael Franti has partnered with Bend-based organization World Muse for a yoga jam and bike ride through the Old Mill District. I spoke with Franti about his involvement with World Muse in our recent interview, which debuted in the paper this week.
"As a traveling musician, normally we're going from sound check to sound check, to show to show to show," Franti says. "It's really great to have that pause in our tour schedule to really be doing something that's fun and celebrating that sense of community."
