These United States tonight at the Silver Moon...and there's a new Pearl Jam album out

These United States is playing the Silver Moon Brewing Co. tonight.

Tuesday nights typically aren’t the most fun times of the week, but tonight is an exception. These United States, the much-talked-about folkie indie rock band from a combination of Washington, DC and Kentucky, is landing at the Silver Moon Brewing Co. tonight.

Here’s what we wrote on the Our Picks page of last week’s print edition of the Source.

Far and away one of the coolest bookings thus far this fall (other than the Deer Tick show you’ll read about below), the raucous indie roots rockers of These United States are descending on the Silver Moon. The band’s sound combines Americana influences with a full rock attack – check out the band’s new record, Everything Touches Everything, to get a taste of why things are looking bright for this act. $5. 9pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.

What we couldn’t show on that page was this music video for the band’s track, “Honor Amongst Thieves.” Here it is:

OK, I’ll either see you out at that show or at Ranch Records, where I’m headed soon here to get the new Pearl Jam album. Today feels like Christmas…except it’s September and Eddie Vedder is subbing in for Santa Claus. Listen to the album's first single, "The Fixer" here.
