Your support for independent local news is important.

The Source Weekly has been Central Oregon’s locally owned news outlet for over 23 years. We have always been the definition of "support local." Our success in navigating this new world is tied to the success we experience in pulling together for the common good.

Quality local journalism takes a group of dedicated reporters passionate about democracy and open government. This story is the result of our hard work, and in normal times, the result of the support of the advertisers in Central Oregon. In the age of COVID-19, however, that support has taken a hit—but that’s where you come in.

Amazing Coffee and Cookies opens

If you haven't yet discovered the industrial park that's home to Geist Beerworks near the Redmond airport, here's one more reason to check it out: Coffee. And good coffee, at that. Co-owner Sean White, who opened Amazing Coffee and Cookies with wife Rachel, says he spent a number of years working in coffee spots in Portland, and Santa Cruz, California, before opening the truck, located in the front of their ceramics studio, Flat White, on SW Umatilla in Redmond.

The coffee is sourced from Verve in Santa Cruz and Still Vibrato in Bend. Rachel's experience working at Bonta Gelato and The Penny Ice Creamery in Santa Cruz gave her the chops to create her own cookies at the cart. Amazing Coffee and Cookies opened July 1.

Editor's note: This story has been updated from its original version to reflect that Still Vibrato is in Bend, not Portland. We regret the error.
