MISSION STATEMENT

Assistance League of Bend is one of the more than 120 chapters of Assistance League, a national nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action. For the fiscal year 2013-2014, our approximate 140 dedicated members volunteered over 17,000 hours and touched the lives of more than 4,000 people in the communities of Deschutes County through its philanthropic programs.

WHAT YOUR DONATIONS HAVE DONE

• Provided new clothes and shoes for 2,052 school children in grades K-12.
• Served Breakfast with Santa to 140 community members, including foster children and their foster families.
• Visited and served 300 seniors in local assisted-care facilities providing hygiene items and other special items requested. • Provided holiday gifts to 112 seniors in need.
• Made and donated 1419 hats to cancer patients.
• Rewarded 100 students for improved and outstanding attendance.
• Taught 40 elementary school children the basics of cooking and nutrition.
• Returned to the community over $184,000 (unaudited) thru philanthropic programs in the fiscal year 2013-2014.

WHAT YOUR DONATIONS CAN DO

Grants from foundations, trust funds and businesses, as well as donations from individuals, members and two major annual fundraising events support our philanthropic programs in Deschutes County. Funds raised in the community stay in the community.
