One of our favorite coffee shops, Backporch Coffee Roasters, is opening a second location in Century Center. They've also collaborated with Boneyard Brewing on Boneyard's newest beer, a chocolate espresso cream stout.
Backporch Coffee will cut the ribbon on its new location in a few weeks, but is opening its doors to the public for a tasting of the new beer tomorrow (Tuesday) evening between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Majell Beach, who owns Backporch with her husband David, especially loved being able to design the new location from start to finish, utilizing repurposed materials.
"We love it," she says. "It was so cool having the Bright Wood opportunity because it's more of a reflection of what we want. We got to go in before the walls were up... we got to design from the ground up."
Backporch plans to move all of its roasting operations to the Century Center location, which is a relief for the staff and patrons of the Newport location where the roaster is currently located in a tight space behind the counter. The Beach's look forward to having a separate space for the roastery, which will still be visible to customers but no longer impeding service.
So check for Backporch to open in just a couple weeks and head over tomorrow to taste some coffee-infused beer courtesty of Backporch Coffee and Boneyard Beer.
