BendFilm Festival 2014

Hello Unknown

One of the most keen charms of the BendFilm Festival is how many filmmakers travel here to attend their screenings and mingle with the crowds. It is an intimacy that brings a fourth dimension to the films. I mean, really, could you ever imagine sitting next to Steven Spielberg and watching E.T.? But stop by Tin Pan Theater on Saturday and you may be sandwiched between the writer, director and producer of the ghost story, Love in the Time of Monsters, all who are traveling here to attend the screening on their film. Or, stop by Volcanic Theatre Pub to watch the fanciful yet intense I Believe in Unicorns, and you are likely to see the director Leah Meyerhoof, a young, up-and-coming filmmaker who can answer in person whether she does, indeed, believe in mystical creatures.

To get the conversations started, we caught up with directors, producers and actors in advance and started them talking about their films and fancies. Tickets and full list of showtimes at
