The new film by John Michael McDonagh, the brutally funny filmmaker behind 2011's The Guard. Calvary follows a priest who is told he will be murdered in a week by an anonymous parishioner and his attempts to find the man who would kill him. It is a rare film more interested in the character deconstruction of a good priest than a deconstruction of a bad (touchy) one. If this film is half as good as The Guard, it will be twice as good as most films coming out in the next few weeks.
Calvary is not showing in any theaters in the area.
