Consider Dallas Brown for Commissioner

Letter to the editor.

I'm writing to voice my support for Dallas Brown for Deschutes County commissioner. Deschutes County is an amazing place to live, but it needs fresh perspectives and direction. I truly feel Dallas has the energy, ideas and drive to get us there.

I know that for some his age is an issue, he's only 25, in fact - but why is that assumed to be a weakness? A little youth and vigor might just be what our system needs.

As Albert Einstein once said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."

Dallas has the ideas to bring Bend and Deschutes County forward into the future. Talk to him for any length of time, and you will realize how much he understands and cares about his hometown. He wants to prioritize job growth and fight unemployment while sustaining the natural beauty that makes this place so special. He's dedicated to maintaining an open, honest and transparent government.

Along side his ideas, he has the motivation and work ethic to make them a reality. You might have seen him out on Third Street and Greenwood Avenue holding a sign, and I know he's been out pounding the pavement, walking neighborhoods and meeting voters. Dallas has already shown he is the candidate who will put his back into the job and will listen to his constituents. Don't take my word for it, instead let this letter be a catalyst to educate yourself on all of the candidates and the issues. If you see Dallas out on the street, stop and talk to him. I'm sure you'll be just as impressed with him as I am. Or you can find his website at www.dallasfordeschutes.com. Be the change you want to see and support the candidates who are willing to do the same. It's your government, after all.
