Quilting legend Caryl Bryer Fallert was the first quilter to win a major prize for a quilt made with a sewing machine, a technique that quilt purists say is blasphemous. She mentored Hollis Chatelain, who caused a stir in the quilt world when she won an award for a painted quilt. Chatelain then mentored Randall Cook, who sparked controversy with his quilt of a nude male. The story unfolds in the bobbin-popping documentary Stitched, which follows the three notorious patchwork enthusiasts in their trip to the 2010 International Quilt Festival in Houston.
