We only have a few resources here in Bend besides counselors in Schools. And not enough counselors in Bend privately. There's Deschutes County Mental Health for the uninsured. It's the entire state! There are approximately 25 beds in the state of Oregon that have inpatient services. If a child/adolescent has a psychiatric emergency and go to the local ED they have no where to go but sit in the ED. There is a new service that just started called Youth Village and they are maxed. This need goes beyond school counselors... It's the entire state! You need to talk to our state Representative.
