When: Sat., Nov. 13, 2-8 p.m.
Up until the 18th century, all brewing malts were dried over open-flames, thereby infusing smoke flavor into the finished beer. The throwback style survives as the BBQ equivalent of beer, from traditional Rauchbier lagers to smoked porters and ales. Given the extreme fire season this year, let's simultaneously celebrate the end of wildfire season as well as show thanks to our firefighters. A portion of proceeds will go to benefit the Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Assoc.
Attendees will be able to sample more than 20 beers made with smoked malts or other smoked ingredients as well as smoky cocktails (think Islay Scotch and Mezcal). The food trucks at Silver Moon will offer a smoked dish just for this 1-day event.
