The Accidental Death of a CyclistOthelloDouble feature

Pantani

In conjunction with Le Tour de France and the Cascade Cycling Classic, Sisters Movie House and the Sisters Athletic Club are screening this documentary about cycling legend Marco Pantani. Pantani won the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia and only six years later was dead in a cheap Italian hotel room. This intense documentary chronicles the rise and fall of one of the finest athletes the world has ever known.

Wed., July 9, 7pm. Sisters Movie House.

Met Opera: Rise

This is one of the most powerful retellings of Shakespeare's haunting tragedy in history. The piece is stunningly composed by Verdi and stars some of Opera's towering greats such as Renée Fleming as the doomed Desdemona and Johan Botha as the tragic figure Othello.

Wed., July 9, 7pm. Old Mill Stadium 10.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Rise of the Planet of the Apes turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of 2011 with a smart script, pulse pounding action and a wonderful performance by a computer-generated ape. Three years later, the sequel looks even better and the only thing more fun than spending two hours in a theater is spending four! If you watch both films back to back you can then go home and watch Conquest of the Planet of the Apes over and over again until all is right with the world.

Thu., July 10, 7pm. Old Mill Stadium 10.
