Free WWII Film at Bend's Tower Theatre for Veterans Day - "Everyman's War"

Everyman's War a true-story WWII film plays for free at the Tower Theatre in Bend in honor of Veteran's Day.

In honor of Veterans Day, as well as veterans themselves, the Oregon Film Alliance is presenting a free screening of Everyman’s War, an Oregon-made World War II film Wednesday night at the Tower Theatre.

The film was directed by Thad Smith and also stars a Bend native in Cole Carson. Telling the true story of a group of soldiers from the 94th Infantry Division (of which Smith’s own father was a member), Everyman’s War takes place in a small German town in 1945 where the outnumbered American troops were hunkered down in a harsh winter conditions.

To recreate the German landscape, the production team shot in Scapoose, Oregon where they built an entire street that served as a road in Nennig, Germany. What began as a short film project turned into a full feature-length film that took home the Best Narrative Feature at the GI Film Festival.

The best part about this screening, which begins at 7pm at the Tower, is that it’s completely free. Donations, however, can be made to the local Veterans Administration.
