    Re: “Gunning for Safety
Once again, penalizing law-abiding citizens that take their personal safety seriously, will become victims, due to these ridiculous requirements.
Ask any law enforcement officer, if this will have a positive outcome? Ask a law enforcement officer, "why isn't your weapon locked?! Ridiculous!
Those meaning to do harm to others don't follow laws!
There certainly is need to have firearms in homes in a safe--especially with young boys, suicidal folks, etc.,
We can do better than this. Enforce the laws on the books...

I usd studs one year in C.,O. b/c of the Volkswagon Van was rear wheel drive and I had a steep driveway, on a steep-hilled street.
With that said, you don't need studs! 99% of your time with studs is on pavement, not ice. Siping is better on your snow-tires, and many come factory siped. Avoid the chaos of HAVING to remove studded tires by X-Date. Many All-Weather tires can perform year-round as well.
    Save our roads--stop using studs!

Fear and Prejudice? How about human safety? This large cat--double the weight of the cat reportedly that was suffocated/strangled by an adult male in Colorado--was living under decks, hot tubs and frequented the river trail.
It is rare where and when a cat can be tranquilized and moved--typically can be injured or killed in the fall out of large pines, 50'-60' feet up. And, once moved, become troubled cats again. Where would ODFW take this cat? IF moved, it will confront another cat and possibly displace it, or be injured and killed in the teritorial fight--there just aren't easy answers when ALL of us are to blame for living where their meals live in the winter.

    Re: “Ladies of Lead
This article is nicely done and shows a healthy side to firearms--thanks Brian, Sharon and The Source for "going there"in time when things seem chaotic. Safety and training with firearms is paramount to control when carrying in public places. NRA programs can save lives (Eddy the Eagle) and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Hunters Safety courses.
