WOW!! The brave fisherman, that have launched their boats in the newly melted slush of the deep winter, are knockin' em dead. USFW for Suttle Lake has set a Kokanee limit of 25 to help reduce the amazing stocks of naturally breeding fish that inhabit our lake.
The three fisherman that visited us this morning for breakfast at the Boathouse Restaurant had only done so after reaching their limit by 9 a.m. When three of our guests attending our Spring Wellness retreat asked them about the morning, they responded, "I know this lake is open year round, but it's exciting to come up here opening weekend and catch limit. It's a good omen for the rest of the season."
When asked what they were using, I got that weary look and the reply, "Well, it's a spinner." And in fisherman talk we know that means that you need to go out there and find out for yourself. Good Luck fisherman!! We welcome you here to the lodge and the lake to enjoy the season.
