    Re: “Gearing Up
A quick update... the Bend Planning Commission has once again delayed its public hearing on the US 97 North Corridor project. The latest date floated (as this is the second delay) is for sometime in December.

You can make the same argument about separate bicycle lanes (cycle tracks) - build it, and they will ride.

What makes Don even more inspirational to me is the fact that he's overcome a recent battle with cancer. Go get 'em this weekend!

The City had 2 open houses on the Riverside/Franklin bike/ped project in July of 2010; a few OBNA neighbors were at those and voiced concerns then. I was surprised to learn others hadn't heard about it until very recently. Either City needs a better notification system, or people need to get plugged into what is going on in their neck of the woods.

Councilor Knight should be careful about what he wishes for; a roundabout at that intersection would encourage more cut-through traffic onto NW Tumalo [a neighborhood street] which already has more traffic than it's rated for. The plan will draw traffic to the arterial (Riverside Blvd) away from the neighborhood streets, while calming and allowing it to flow. I understand he's doing his job and lobbying on behalf of some of his constituents' perspectives; I just happen to think he's wrong.
