Jamband aficionados Lost Ox, based out of Portland, Oregon, have been unleashing their uniquely progressive brand of outlaw funk & Americana upon the once unsuspecting public since 2017. Originally generating buzz through local live performances, the band released their debut album, Wildheart, in 2018. Soon thereafter, they were playing to packed out venues across the Pacific Northwest and headlining annual gigs at the 500-capacity Star Theater. The ox stampede continued down the coast to California and east toward the Rocky Mountains, until a global pandemic reared its ugly head and saw a national tour and many festival dates circle down the drain. While the Lost Ox sound continues to evolve, one quality that has yet to waver is their relentless commitment to progression and exploration. Characterized by intriguing lyrical interplay, shredding guitar solos, funky bass lines, and complex arrangements, Lost Ox is taking yesterday’s music and rebranding it with originality that is ripe for the future. Swindler produces a fresh and original sound that integrates funk, jazz and psychedelic rock into a masterful sonic tapestry. Their innovative approach makes each live experience compelling and unique. The band continues to expand an already rapidly growing fanbase with each show. Funk based grooves, tight melodic arrangements and strong instrumental improvisation all create a vibe that brings the dance floor alive. Based in Seattle, they have toured extensively throughout the northwest and beyond. Swindler has shared the stage with numerous national touring acts and regional favorites. Their new live album release ‘Divide That Into 4’ showcases their strengths through superior songwriting and undeniable chemistry.
