Last year Kenny Rogers, this Year Michael McDonald. We love beards.Michael McDonald, Grammy-winning artist and past member of both Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, has been announced to play at Les Schwab August 26. In case you feel that your life has been empty since "Sweet Freedom" stopped receiving regular airplay or that you just can't get enough of McDonald's husky and un-enunciated croonings in songs like "No Lookin' Back," this show's a must-see. McDonald's latest release, Soul Speaks, features covers of Stevie Wonder's "Living For The City," Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" and even Dionne Warwick's "Walk On By," and three original songs. While McDonald's distinctive voice may be lost on the younger generation, the artist keeps turning out successful records and is nowhere near as tacky as those '80s hair metal band reunion tours.
Tuesday, August 26, 6:30 pm Les Schwab Amphitheater. $32/general admission.
