5th Annual Portland Latin American Film Festival

¡Viva el cine! Portland rounds up the best in Latin American film in a multiday showcase that ends on Thursday. The festival calls attention to Latin American film and culture while offering diverse perspectives for Portland viewers. This year's lineup includes two Colombian films (The Colors of the Mountain, The Wind Journeys) and a Mexican film (Chicogrande), the 41st release from director Felipe Cazals. If you're into war metaphors, soccer balls stuck in mine fields and rap battles, head over and check it out. Hollywood Theatre.

wednesday 26

Tit Pig

Named after a gay porn star, the Seattle band promises a memorable and outrageous show full of screaming hardcore and hair-farming musicians. Green Noise Records presents a bill that includes Bi-Marks, Doom Patrol and DJ Ken Dirtnap. The thrash rock band is rumored to be able to start a mosh pit just about anywhere so the show should leave you sore, sweaty and satisfied. 8pm, The Know.

sunday 30

Portland Zombie Walk 2011

If you were disappointed by the premiere of The Walking Dead, the Portland Zombie Walk & Thrill the World dance will satisfy your desire for undead carnage. Complete with zombie makeovers and a "Thriller" dance off, the event is a kick-starter project that should be contagiously kick ass. Bring your survival guide and experience it first hand. 12-4pm, Hollywood Vintage to Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Ashland

monday 31

Ashland Halloween Parade

In the past, this event has been very (a-hem) "adult," with R- and X-rated costumes abundant, along with your choice of intoxicants. This year, the city council is attempting redesignthe holiday parade as a more family friendly and PC event. A good amount of debauchery is still assured and participation for adults and kids alike is encouraged. Ashlanders take two things very seriously - Shakespeare and Halloween - so get downtown for the parade or for the uncensored version of the holiday in the plaza later that night. 3-4:30pm, Downtown Ashland.

Little Bites: Thanksgiving Dinner is Served! Restaurants that will cook for you on Thursday

While many of us are going to be slaving over stoves, stuffing, brining or the always fun deep-frying our butterball turkeys this Thursday, there are options for those who don't feel like sticking their hands in the cavity of a 20-pound bird or cutting up the neck to stew some gravy. For all of you who would rather have a skilled chef prepare your fixins, here's a list of restaurants serving Thanksgiving Dinner, courtesy of Visit Bend.
