Dirksen Derby 10
DERBY— The Dirksen Derby is back and this year they are doing things a little differently. The weekend-long gathering of snowboarders, sit-skiers and splitboarders up on Mt. Bachelor is much more than a race. The official kickoff party on Friday night will be held at the Tower Theatre and will include a film and photo festival. Saturday night, don't miss the Derby Dinner and Broken Board Art Auction. Bid on art created by snowboarders on broken boards while getting down to music by Shady GroOve. Proceeds support Tyler Eklund, a local snowboarder seriously injured in 2007, as well as Oregon Adaptive Sports, Protect Our Winters, 1% For The Planet and the Central Oregon Avalanche Association. // Race: Fri.-Sun., Mt.
