Play Manuscripts Wanted

Attention undiscovered playwrights!

Attention undiscovered playwrights! 2nd Street Theater is now accepting 60 to 90 minute manuscripts for a new initiative aimed at uncovering local and national talent. A panel of local talent will judge the manuscripts, producing scenes from a select few to perform for local theatergoers.

"Audiences will then have an opportunity to vote on which play they would like to see fully produced," explained organizer David DaCosta, local actor and director who most recently stared in 2nd Street's production of Company. "The hope is that there are people out there that are waiting for this opportunity."

In the past, 2nd Street has produced plays written by Central Oregon writers Cricket Daniel, Howard Schor, Suzan Noyes and Jim Lee. The winning manuscript will join the ranks with a full-scale production produced by Stage Right Productions in May, 2014.
