After receiving a notification late Tuesday afternoon when we were rushing to wrap up last week's issue, we made sure we had a reporter down at the district attorney's office on Wednesday morning for a press conference about... well, we had no idea what it was going to be about. But we shifted schedules and hustled down there and crowded into a room with members of essentially ever major news outlet in the region, only to have D.A. Patrick Flaherty read from a press release that had minutes before been handed out to reporters. The subject matter pertained to the ongoing investigation into hiring information provided to The Bulletin that purportedly contained personal information about some of Flaherty's newly hired staff. When he wrapped up reading from the press release, Flaherty said he wasn't answering any questions. He stood up and left the room, leaving the assembled media to look at each other and say and/or think, "Well, that was weird." WTF?
