Happy Girls Half Marathon and 5K Run

This is the first year of this female-specific Memorial Day weekend run along the Deschutes River to benefit the Kids Center. Also includes a girls 1.5k run and an option for a two-person team. Visit happygirlsrun.com for registration information.

Three Sisters Marathon

Saturday, June 4

Heaven Can Wait

Sunday, June 5

A longstanding 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer benefiting Sara's Project that begins in downtown Bend's Drake Park. Visit heavencanwait.org for registration info.

The Dirty Half

Sunday, June 12

An all-trail early-summer half marathon that's long been a staple of the summer racing circuit. This year's race begins and finishes at Breedlove Guitars. Race info at: dirtyhalf.footzonebend.com Registration at: time2race.com or in person at FootZone.

Bend Pole Pedal Paddle

Saturday, May 21

OK, this one isn't just a running race. It also includes skiing (downhill and crosscountry), biking and paddling, but it does have both a distance run and a sprint, so we'd toss it in. Race information and registration at www.pppbend.com.

Dry Canyon Run

Saturday, June 18

This race provides 10K and 5K races that begin at Redmond's American Legion Park and continue through the city's Dry Canyon. Presented by Redmond High School's track and field team. Race information at training4speed.com. Registration at time2race.com

Sports Festival

Friday-Sunday, June 24-26

Monday, July 4

Get your 4th of July started right with this morning 5K walk or run through the Old Mill District to benefit the Children's Heart Fund of the St. Charles Foundation. Race info and registration at stcharleshealthcare.org/spark-your-heart.

Smith Rock Sunrise Summer Classic

Saturday, July 9

Head out to Terrebonne and choose from a 5K, 10K or half marathon that will take you through the scenic area and country roads surrounding Smith Rock State Park. Race information and registration at smithrockrace.com.

Deschutes Dash Weekend

Saturday-Sunday, July 16-17

Taking place in the heart of Bend's Old Mill District, the Deschutes Dash features two days of events, including Olympic and sprint triathlons and duathlons, 5K, 10K, Youth Tri and a kid's Splash 'N Dash. Registration and race info at deschutesdash.com.

Cascade Lakes Relay

Begins Friday, August 5

Didn't get your team into the Hood to Coast relay race? Well, Central Oregon has an up-and-coming relay of its own with the Cascades Lake Relay. Teams of 12 run a total of 216.6 miles beginning at Diamond Lake Resort and ending in Bend's Northwest Crossing Neighborhood. Race info at cascadelakesrelay.com. Haulin' Aspen

Sunriver Resort Marathon for a Cause
