While teenage girls and their journaling habits might make for a special film on its own, the film The Diary of A Teenage Girl goes much farther. This takes place in San Francisco in the 1970s as a young woman embarks on an affair with her mother's boyfriend. The film never judges the characters (even when it should) and plays as a very powerful coming of age dramedy.
