One thing not mentioned that I see a lot of is the number of people who work from home. I have met numerous people who have moved here with a portable job - facilitated by a computer and an internet connection. I remember seeing numbers on that and they are substantial. Some of those are high paying like six figures. I know that from being a landlord and processing applications. There is a guy across the street who all his clients are in Huston Texas and he doesn't even ski or mountain bike or anything like that. After just watching some documentaries on artificial intelligence I wonder how secure some of those jobs are though.
