Ukiyo-e: Japanese Pop Culture & The Floating World

During the Japanese Edo period, woodblock prints were the preferred art form. Ukiyo-e was the pop culture of the day depicting urban life. Dr. Ann Wetherell will discuss the social and political context of these woodblock prints. In conjunction with the current A6 exhibit, "Opening Japan."
