It is highly outrageous what is happening in this country right now. Money is being poured upon the wealthy elite (banks, insurance companies, etc.) but for the people who need financial help, it is nowhere to be found. If you are unemployed, you can't get even a small loan, and forget about a refinance or mortgage restructure. And now funds are supposedly available through some grant (as published in "that other paper" recently) to help prospective homebuyers purchase foreclosed homes in the Bend area, to try to raise property values. What a travesty. Where is the help for people whose homes are currently facing foreclosure, to help prevent them from joining the ranks of the homeless? And on top of that, the American people let themselves be railroaded by the insurance companies and mega-corporations into believing that healthcare reform was a bad thing. Even the most naïve should have pause to think that if the insurance companies and other corporations are against healthcare reform, it must have some advantages over the current system for the average person.
